About Woolino Pajamas
These pajamas are AMAZINGLY soft. They feel like silk, and are not thick& heavy like felted wool
sweaters, which is what I expected. This feels like the thickness of a long-sleeved shirt or very thin sweater, but it is smooth like a silk blanket. Woolino Pajamas are made from the world’s most superior natural fiber – merino wool that is a natural fire retardant and it is free of any flame-retardants. They're not treated in any way with chemicals or synthetics (as most sleepwear is with fire retardants). However, they are tested to meet or exceed the US CPSC children safety standards for fire safety, and are also certified to be lead and phthalates free. Woolino also offers a huge line of lovely wool wear for your littles, including super sweet sleep sacks for babies, body suits, and hats!
We tried out Woolino Pajamas with Teylor (5yrs) because she will not sleep with blankets over her at night- she always kicks them off. However, we live in Colorado where it's COLD already (we've had snow 4 times this month!) so I worry about her at night, especially when her little fingers& toes get so cold! I was thrilled to find out how soft& lightweight they are. They immediately became Teylor's favorite jammies, and she has worn them every night (and most of some days...) since they came in the mail! These pajamas do run large, so the 3-4T fit Teylor (a very tall 5yo) just fine. They also have to be washed carefully& lay flat to dry, which isn't a huge deal (after all, they're pajamas so they don't get too messy). Unlike most sleepwear on the market, which come in either winter or summer weight, Woolino can be used in all seasons- although in Colorado we tend to have two seasons only: COLD winter and HOT summer! The lightweight merino layer keeps your little one warm in winter and cool in summer. It will absorb and release moisture away from baby’s body to keep baby cool when it is hot, or trap and circulate warm air to keep baby warm when it is cold.
These pajamas aren't cheap (they're $59.99/pair for the big kid pair Teylor tried) but they are definitely worth the price tag as a splurge or if your little one wears pajamas with any regularity. I love that these will take a long time for Teylor to outgrow, and they certainly won't wear out- and we will surely be handing them down to friends with younger kids when she does outgrow them. They're supremely soft& luxurious, and since she was always getting cold at night they are the perfect solution to our problem- PLUS we use them for layering, so we're getting a ton of use out of them already. For babies, I think their sleepsacks are brilliant- since they don't have legs they won't outgrow them as quickly, and wool is an amazing fabric for babies since they won't overheat in it or get cold. They're also perfect for babies since they reduce the risk of suffocation with blankets- I know we all have heard not to keep blankets over our little ones, and with these pajamas they most likely won't be cold.
Layering with Woolino
If you live in a climate where it gets super cold at times (as I do), you can use Woolino Pajamas as an extra layer under your child's winter gear to help keep them dry and warm. We tried these out under Teylor's snowsuit and she didn't complain at all about being cold which she usually does (and she gets cold so easily!) which was awesome! We will probably be purchasing a second pair to keep with our ski gear so she can wear one while playing on the slopes under her snow-suit, and a clean/ dry pair for the ride home!
You can purchase your own Woolino Pajamas on the Woolino website for $59.99 per pair. They do run a bit large (Teylor is in 5T and tried out their 3T-4T pair) so keep that in mind (but also remember that your kids will grow into them& if you're anything like me, you might accidentally shrink them too!). I think these would make an awesome gift to ask family to give to kids this holiday season since they're both lovely& useful. It's also a sure way to make sure they stay warm& cozy- plus there is really something so precious about babies in pajamas. You know it's true.
